Recommend me some shoes

I've been using Shimano TR50 shoes in a Eur47 (UK11) for years and I would like to have a look at some road specific shoes. The current crop of Shimano shoes look a bit 'meh' - I wish the Shimano R132 was still available.
Not knowing other brands at all, what brands have a similar fit to Shimano? I have wide-ish feet, UK 10 in most shoes apart from running trainers (Asics UK 11, Shimano Tri shoes UK 11).
Are Boa closures good/better than the ratchets?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I have recently bought some Fizik rb4 after wearing sidi shoes, and can highly recommend them , they have a boa fastener which I find ideal for tightening / loosening whilst riding, I find the Fizik s more comfortable than the sides as well, they are also have a nice stiff sole
    And are not to expensive

The ones that fit your feet best.
Shoes are one item that really have to be tried on in a shop.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Thanks chaps, those Fizik look interesting, I may check them out. PB - too true, I should make the effort and visit some of the lbs' nearby, I'm sure between them they will have a good variety of manufacturers shoes to try on and work out what's best. I see Sidi's are reliably pocket-emptying!

Northwave have a series made in wide fittings such as Evolution Plus Wide and Extreme Plus Wide.

If you do want to try Shimano, the R321 are excellent.

They're the former pro level model but available at a good discount now the S-Phyres are out.

I've found specialized shoes to be pretty comfy.
I use the Fizik R3b which are beautiful and pretty comfy and much better now that they have proper inner soles in them.

Bont are good if you have wide feet, plus they can be heat moulded.

I agree on Sidi. Extra weight = stronger legs, just look at Froome go
