Does any have any experience in Melbourne for cycling? Ive found London to have a pretty good cycling scene and was ted to know what Melbourne was like for training and general 'bike life'.

Is there regularly racing accessible to the city and some good social clubs? Any good climbs and scenic rides? comparable to Kent and Surrey? Ive been in London a year from NZ and miss the relaxed nature of down under so thinking of giving Melbourne a try.

    It's awesome!

My Mrs is from Melbourne and we go over there every year for 3 weeks or so.

Cycling up into the Yarra Valley is so good, and then you've got all the flat roads down by the coast (Beach Road).

Definitely a big scene out there, and the coffee is fantastic.

Speak to the lads at Bike Gallery Melbourne, they are top guys and have some serrrrious bike porn!

They're lots of great climbs outside Melbourne and great areas to ride like the Macedon Ranges and the Dandenongs. Beach road and the Boulevard are the main areas in the city. Lots of people ride and there are lots of clubs.

Only problem is Australian drivers, genuinely nasty! But Melbourne is a great place to ride a bike!
