Drilling for shrader

Hi All

I have a really annoying problem with my rims (Rodi Black Rock Disc, alloy-double wall). They came fitted with 40c tyres and the rear has a slow puncture.

I want to replace the inner tubes with dr sludge / slime filled tubes as I have a 50 mile commute and despise punctures!

I realised when the tubes arrived that they have wider shrader valves and won't fit my rims. I can't find any decent inner tubes for my rims (the tubes I think are 35-43c) that are presta vavles.

So my question is, can I simply get an 8mm drillbit and make the valve hole in my rims wider to accept both schrader and presta? Is it ok on wider rims to do this?

You can, but getting Presta tubes for a 40c really shouldn't be an issue.

Decent tubes usually have removable cores so you can add your own sealant to your personal choice.
