Long story short, i took a bike to Spain last year, hour away from Malaga and left out there as the holiday bike.
Now, the wife wants a divorce so this August is probably the last time i will go back there (her parents apartment) so its what to do with the bike?

Bring it home at cost and try to sell over here, or stick it on Spanish ebay etc and try and sell it in the last week, having used it for a couple of weeks.

Im hoping it will sell easy enough if i tried the latter, and i guess if it doesn't go, just bring it back.

Bike is a 2014 Colnago AC-R, done probably 3k miles so hopefully worth around £500 or more.

Has anyone done this?

For the £30 quid or so it'd cost to fly with it I'd just get it home...

at least she doesn't want an electric bike ! .. it could be worse.

I would bring it back home, borrow a bike bag, fly it back ... sounds like a fun adventure

Repatriate it and then bury it near Dover. It's what any decent chap would do.

I did consider riding it home, but id litterally have to get off the plane and go. Its 1400 miles, so will take me a couple of weeks haha.

The travel bag is still out there so thats a bonus. Its just getting it to the airport that may be an issue.

My parents bought a place in Sicily and I looked at the idea of buying a bike out there to keep out there, a cheap old Bianchi or something. But I looked and the local second hand market was outrageously expensive which quickly put paid to that idea (certainly on ebay). But on the other hand if you have something to sell then you'd be the one benefitting.
Obviously that's Sicily so you'd have a totally different local market but the principle still applies.
Look on ebay.es for bikes around 50 miles of the place, see what they go for. If it's high then list out here to end around the beginning of the time you get there (assuming you have photos) and hope for the best. You can always take it home if it doesn't sell.
