It's hard with Froome as he never looks good. He's also got previous for pretending to be in difficulty.

Given Sky have now put 2 riders up the road you have to suspect they are reasonably confident.

Lamda rockets firing at full cyclinders, heading towards 1min45secs ahead of Aru/Froome group.

Froome didn't look comfortable before my boss came in and I had to turn it off quickly

I'm surprised, I thought Aru would go full yellow. Thankfully he didn't.

Kwiatkowski should be able to bridge up to Landa and Contador on the downhill......
Unless Barguil puts him into a telegraph pole.

Finally we see the Landa that Brailsford has been seeing in his head for best part of 2 years...

Who was it who confidently predicted this race would all be over by today?
  • Landa will kick Bert's arse

is this punishment duty for Landa or a chance for him to redeem himself for a different team next year? No-one sitting back and letting Aru do some work? Good to see Bertie back on form.

I think Landa has been given a free hand to go for the stage.

Contador struggling to stick on Landa's wheel on the descent.
  • Landa can descend

Loving that descent - will Bardet go full-on? Of course he will.

This is great, nice to see the Sky DS take my advice to send Landa up the road with Kwia. Yellow jersey group going slow enough that Kiryenka is getting back. Astana just too under strength.

Fair play, Landa is having a blinder
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Working class kid trying to indulge his middle class 7yr old wean. Why couldn't it have been stage 10 or 11? looks like I've missed a belter today.

Kwia is one hell of a rider. The amount of work he has done already and now covering Quintana. Top class.

As someone else has said in the past, this is the way to do the stages - one long, hard attritional mountain stage followed by a short, sharp killer. Would prefer it to be a MTF though.

The parked cars on the outside of bends on a narrow descent make me nervous!

100% agree. All short stages would lose the attrition and fatigue from the distance.
