Mich Power Comp - white tack question

Evening,

I suspect the following is just some protective tack but thought I'd see if anyone else had had the same.

Bought 2 Michelin Power Comp tyres (25), both arrived with a lot of tacky white material visible and rubbing away.

I'm assuming it is a protective film but before I open them, use them, have them fail, I thought I'd see what others experiences are.

Cheers

Probably normal. Kind of like a tacky talcum powder? This is just some kind of residue that gets left on new tyres from the manufacturing process. It will come off on it's own eventually if you don't mind waiting.

    Cheers,

tackier than talc, but I'll gamble on them (maybe not on a wet descent for a few miles)

A quick round of zig-zagging down the road should wear that off fairly quickly but yes as with any new tyre go easy until you get a feel for it's limits of traction.
