As above , I have just fitted a new potenza groupset and done maybe 1000 miles on it , chain is clean all well oiled and the gears are indexed ok.
It's not as slick as my super record on another bike , but 1k cheaper so not complaining. Has anyone else run a potenza chain and found it noisy ? Also does it have to go on the right way round , I can't see any real difference on either side of the chain ?
Thanks

Yes on my wife's Canyon. Yes its noisy, it makes a rumbling sound but I thought it was the acoustics of the frame. I havent tried another chain yet. Campag chains should be installed with the label on the right hand end when the two ends are at the bottom not sure if it makes any difference though. The Potenza chain is not like any other Campag chain Ive seen and is probably made in Taiwan. Oh, and the shifting is just as good as SR and Record on my bikes.

  • Thanks , l couldn't find any info on the directional chain. The potenza chain has slots cut in the other face , and does rumble . May have to bin it and buy a chorus , which seem cheaper anyway.

Is the chain running through the rear derailleur and jockey wheels correctly?
  • Yes thanks the set up is ok , just noisy. I need to check the directional thingy.
