Replacing an FSA BB to Shimano one...?

Hi,
I have a an FSA BB mega exo 6000 with an FSA SLK 50/34 crankset. Seems that the BB is compatible with the Shimano Hollow tech ones, but there are contradicting information out there.
It's an English threaded bb, I tried to torque them down, but it seems to come loose quite easily. Maybe I should just clean it completely and add some threadlocker? A bit or cracking noise made me want to replace the whole lot, or at least the bearings. I read that it's 6805 bearings, and with some struggle they can be removed from the cups...
OR, should I just go with a Shimano replacement...? Seems that the crankset can potentially be incompatible with the Shimano bb... :-(
thanks,
DanZi

If your crankset has a 24mm axle and you have an English threaded BB then a Hollowtech 2 BB will work as a direct replacement. I have a FSA crankset in a Hollowtech 2 BB and it works. The axle is a tighter fit than the Shimano crankset it replaced but it went in with gentle persuasion.0
