sizing a chain full suss bike

hello i need to put new chain on my full suss bike what is the correct way i seen you tubes clips about resize the chain.do take the rear shock off set by pushing the rear end up then size the chain.or do let the air out of the rear shock then push the rear end up the size like.or shift rear mech to the high gear then run the chain through the mech then push the back up check the rear mech is not going rip off when size up the right lengh.do add 2 link or 4 link when sizing the new chain.
i got new chain +cassette but change the front chain ring to 30 tooth.i running sram x1 set up.any info please :?

    Puts the suspension at the ride height with maximum chain length, wrap the chain round big/big (don't route through the rear mech) and overlap the chain by a 2 links (one pair) at least.

    So SRAM recommend 4 links on their X01 DH, how is that relevant to X1? My description above matches SRAM and Shimano guidance in their chain packages for conventional setups.

    In addition if you choose to follow the video why bother asking for advice in the first place? And and why two links to the same video or is that some form of subliminal chain related thing?

    just need know the easy way to this job so i don,t cock it up :)

    Read my first reply, procedure is the same as the video except for the overlap recommended on that particular setup.
