Garmin Edit playback stuttering

I have just reinstalled windows then Garmin's "Virb Edit" back on my PC and the playback using the program is terrible. I changed the playback from 1080 to 720 but it's not were near as sharp.
Thing is, when I play any files back using WMP or VLC on the PC it's fine but using it this way you don't see the data chart. Any reason why it's doing this with Virb Edit ?
