Just been given one by a pal who had a spare (last pump gave up the ghost) and wondering if anyone knows how many strokes it takes to get to 100 psi????

Apart from it depending on tyre size there's a very simple way of working it out.

    This.

They are well made but also have a design flaw. Occasionally, the valve end gets caught in the pump's adapter housing, between the lip and the rubber that grips it. Once that happens, its impossible to remove. In turn, once you are left with a broken part in there, its next to impossible to remove. I don't know how it happens - perhaps putting it in too far, which is the sort of thing you do when kak handedly trying to fix a flat in the dark in the rain.

I had two. After this failure occurred the second time, I realised my folly.

For those of us who follow the guys on GCN, this sounds exactly like what happened to Dan Lloyd on this years Maritona...

I've had one for a few years. It's a good "get you home" pump after a puncture and easily fits in a jersey back pocket. Only had to use mine two or three times. It gets a 23mm tyre up to around 85 psi before it starts hurting my arms with the effort.

So pumped x4 tyres (25mm gatorskins & 23mm pro4 enduro) all got to 100psi (my usual pressure) in an average of 215 strokes. Due to previous comment of snapping valve off. Lightly un did the valve and didn't ram the pump on. Just enough to form a seal, and all's good but can see this happening if not careful, Though in the past have broken a valve and seen valves broken with a similar type clamp on pump. We'll see how we go its a freebie.

Had one of these for a few years. No problem to get up to around 90-95psi on 25mm tyres. Around 200 strokes sounds about right. However, recently replaced with a Lezyne mini after the seal started to go and have to say it's a much easier pump to use. Also, the Topeak can be a little hard to remove immediately after use at it gets quite hot, I've snapped off one valve that way. Can't see me having the same problem with the Lezyne.
