Road Bike Rental South Hams, Devon

Theres a small sportive I fancy doing when back visiting my folks in Salcombe, South Devon. Any idea where the nearest road bike hire place might be?

Had lots of lovely Holidays there. Can't recall seeing a bike shop around though. - any mates in clubs still there who could sort you ?

First.Aspect

Looked at this a few years ago. I found one place somewhere not that far into Cornwall that rented road bikes. But they looked like heavy Genesis mechanical disc equipped sub-105 affairs, for about twice as much as you'd pay for a Super-six in Mallorca.

Mtb provision is better.

You could always call a decent local shop and see if they have any ideas. I use Big Peaks in Ashburton (because its a mile from where I'm based when I'm down there) and the do rent mountain bikes. They might fit some slicks for you, and they might know a bloke who knows a bloke... Worth a shot but don't get your hopes up.
