Hi BR,

Just got a new 13" MacBook Pro for work.

As you'll know these things are bloody expensive. nearly as much as a nice Canyon CF bike! ;-)

Is there a case out there that gives it a good chance of surviving if I have an off?

Many thanks,
David

Many thanks DrLex they look really good and was completely sold at first.

However, just been on the phone to them and the smallest case that would fit my 13" is actually for a 14" and there would be about a inch all the way round of foam the I would cut out. Not a problem in itself bit the external size of the case would be bigger than the Thule gauntlet I currently have for my old 15" Mac, so I don't think it will fit in my pack.

    Any other suggestions please?

    A bigger back pack ?
  • I just ordered a shock absorbing sleeve for mine for about £8 off amazon. It doesn't have much protection on the corners (which is where my last laptop took a beating when I came off on ice) but it'll protect against scuffs in my bag & maybe some crash damage.

The more heavy duty stuff all looked too heavy & I care more about weight than anything. Basically, if it were mine it'd be far too precious to commute with, as it's work's, if it gets smashed, it gets smashed

My Macbook Pro is erm ... 8 years old ... been dropped and thrown about (it's mine ok - I can do what I like) - it's got one dented corner and 2 feet have finally come off it.
I do have a neoprene case for it -when I remember to take it - but that only really protects against scratches.

    It's a metal case - they're pretty robust by themselves ...

I take my 15" Pro to/from work once or twice a week. It goes in my Deuter Air rucksack and I imagine it would survive quite happily if I were to fall on it.

Just don't fall off or failing that put a spare bike helmet on it
