Rapha Core Jersey

Bought the Core bundle on the weekend in size large and it was delivered yesterday (great service as I ordered on Sunday night at around 10pm), but I have a question on Rapha sizing, more specifically the jerseys.

Is the core jersey shape indicative of the Rapha fit as it is tight on my arms and shoulders but short at the front and baggy around the waist/midriff area. Are all Rapha Jerseys like this or is the core jersey fit more relaxed than the other jerseys?

Funnily enough the bib-shorts fit perfectly and are really comfortable.

Advice is welcome as I am debating whether to send it all back and buy another brand, or send the jersey back and try another one from higher up the range.

Must admit it all seems to be very well made, and the packaging is top notch, you can see why they have a bit of a following despite the cost.

I've never owned a Rapha core jersey but do have jersey's from the classic and pro team range. I'm medium size with a 39" chest and 32" waist so are at the upper end of the medium fit scale. All my jersey's are tight in the arms and shoulders, like they're designed for skinny armed climbers but non are baggy around the waist etc. They are shorter at the front so the don't ruffle up when riding so I understand.
  • I have worn most rapha jerseys with the exception being the core as I was told by rapha it was a looser fit (and slightly shorter in the torso), so based on that it will be a slightly different fit. As you are probably aware the pro team is the tightest fit, the training jersey might be a good swap if they still have them.

I love Rapha and 99% of my kit is rapha, I'm 6ft and weigh about 12 1/2 stone/ 79kg, I get everything in medium unless its the pro kit in which case I up a size and buy large as it comes up a bit smaller.

It's not particularly cheap but if you subscribe to the newsletter you regularly get emails with 20% discount codes, they do a huge sale with black Friday which is in November I think? So keep an eye out, there are deals to be had with them.

Another good thing if you find yourself in the actual shops fairly often, if you sign up to the RCC which is £120 a year I think? You get free coffee and a free RCC cycling cap as well as a load of other perks.

I have just bought a core jersey in the bundle as well. Because of my podgy belly it is not loose for me there but it is quite short and I'm only 5 foot 7. I also have one of their trade team jerseys (based on the pro-team) and the fit is very good. The material has loads of stretch and would be a decent length for a taller rider.

I bought the bundle, I thought the fit of the jersey was rubbish so sold it on. Way too baggy and weird dimensions, short but loose. I'm 6ft, 159lb and bought large but it would have been riding up my back up the time. Shorts were nice though.

I have a club jersey and a brevet one. Tight around arms and shoulders, but baggy around the midriff. Like it's made for a fat, narrow chested guy with skinny arms.

Target market of fat middle aged bankers who have lots of disposable cash.

Thanks for all the answers guys, think I will send back for a refund and go for other brands that will fit better and be better value for money. Never bought much Rapha before so thought I would treat myself, and I have to admit the quality is goo, the fit for me, not so much.

I did the same with both the shorts and jersey. Fit is poor, quality is questionable, value is poor.

I find the Core and the marketing jerseys (such as a Froome Ventoux) all poor fitting, however, I find the Pro team stuff, though pricey (overpriced without discount), a far better fit.

Anyone got La Passione clothing, I really like their designs and prices are good, plus it looks like race fit so am wondering what quality is like?

I also sent my Core Jersey back, the sleeves were too short and baggy and it was very short at the front. Bought a Pro Team jersey in the sale instead which fits much better.

I have two La Passione Raw jerseys. The fit is very similar to the Rapha Pro Team, but not as restrictive. The sleeves are quite long which I like, and the torso is the right length for me (5'11, 65kg and 36' chest, size small).

The quality I think is very good, I've had one for over a year now and it is still looking almost new. In fact I like it so much I bought another one!

Thanks Bluemoon17, good to know that La Passione is good quality, looks like they will be getting an order soon.
