Is there any better bike available at the moment for the money than this one?

https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/ultim ... l-9-0.html

I currently have a cheaper road bike with the same 52-36 and 11-28 setup and it works quite well for me.

  • A few places offering 20% at the moment, you could probably pick up an Ultegra Cannondale Super Six Evo for similar money. And slightly less uninspiring colourways,
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

If you're confident doing a build yourself, then with some smart shopping you could hang a top end groupset on something slightly more exciting.

    Just my twopenneth.

  • Nope I'm not confident in doing a self-build, I can just about change a tyre and clean my own bike lol.

The reason I liked that particular bike is that the wheelset is pretty good included in the price - the other brands seem to give a very bog standard set, and with the ultegra groupset, low weight and decent reviews it looked about the best I could find.

I personally wouldn't be swayed by wheels. They're an easy upgrade, a year or so down the line.

Unless you must buy a bike asap, it has to be worth waiting for 2017 stock to be reduced in the coming weeks.

Have a quick Google on "Canyon" and "Delivery Issues". Not saying that they will be bad, but it is fair to say that many have had a bad experience and I never buy into companies (or politicians) who say "That was then, all is fine now"...

The SS Evo would get my vote, but then I like top tubes to be horizontal (or near as damn it). You could get a great deal if you find someone selling last year's frameset, like Pauls Cycles. Failing that, as noted above, just wait a little while...which brings us neatly back to Canyon

Canyon best bang for buck that I’ve seen. Rose are good as well.

Scott are often available as last years models for cheap. Cracknfail, sorry cannondale you always get a good deal around September time.

Have a look at the Wheelies website. A few alternative choices:
    Merida
    Tifosi
    Orro

Less ubiquitous than the standard Canyon. The Tifosi even has Campy dressing which is rare these days since Shinmno has bought the market for off the shelf bikes.
