Fox float evolution shock

Hi there, I have a lapierre xr 729 2015, while adjusting the rebound knob, the ctd lever and rebound knob just fell off, I tried just putting it back in,but it would not go, and a oil like substance was running out. Will I need to send off to repair,or is there an easy fix, thanks for any help.
