Am in the market for a new bike computer. Currently have a old garmin edge 500. But it's starting to have problems. So looking to upgrade. Did plan on just get a new one. But have seen good reviews of others. So was woundering of people's thoughts.

Just changed my 510 for a Wahoo Bolt. Big step up and well thought of by a few on here

Get a Wahoo Bolt, although I had to wait 3 weeks for mine to arrive due to them being sold out completely in the UK during June, so you might want to check when you can get one by. Wiggle/evanscycles/sigmasport/triuk/cyclesurgery all sold out at the moment! I ordered one from a shop which said it had one left, but I got an email back saying it was sold in the LBS by the time my order went through
If you want a bolt pack (£259.99) you should probably phone up the shop to check if they have any left!
    edit: https://bicyclechain.co.uk/product/4087 ... mp-bundle/ has some now

I saw this on a fb ad too, but hasn't been released yet: https://www.hammerhead.io/pages/karoo any opinions?

Wahoo Element or Wahoo Element Bolt. They're both the same operating system and have the same features other than the Element has more LED lights. The Bolt version has a smaller screen and an aerodynamic shape to shave 0.00whatever watts off your time (if you believe the hype). I prefer the Element simply because its got the bigger screen for me to be able to read it on the move.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

Elemnt currently has a £50 cash back if you trade in your old unit directly with wahoo.

Yeah it has £50 cashback because the elemnt is not selling half as well as the bolt which is out of stock! Having said that £250 for a HRM/cadence/cycling computer is a really good deal. Elemnt is cheaper than the bolt

This is what a supplier told me:
(...) Perfect storm situation with Bolts being in short supply and the Element not selling even though they are in stock.

    Comparing Bolt vs Elemnt:
    Elemnt:
    • Bigger screen ---> more data
    • LED's to indicate turnings/HR zones
    • Longer battery life
    Bolt:
    • Looks less like a car Sat nav
    • More Aero, so it will basically add 6/7kph to your average speed, and boost you FTP by at least 50W 8)

The Bolt is the new toy is all and the Elemnt is just as good. Its hardly Garmin 1000 size either to be comparing it to a satnav and more like the old 810 size. The average rider will barely, if at all, benefit from the aero shape of the Bolt. But, people do like gimmicks.

Cheers for the advise. Will look into seeing if I can get the bolt. Have seen plenty good reviews of it. But wanted to check with people that have one.

Get a Bolt. Leagues ahead of my old Garmin 520.
