Holiday coming up - we're taking bikes ...
and when we get back I've got a 26mile TT to ride ... the following morning

Now, the fly in the ointment is that due to Little SB - I'll be taking my CX with chunky tyres, mudguards, rack and childseat ...
My aim is to get a few "training" rides in - as we're going to a hilly area and I'm sure I can have a quick ride without No 1 son on the back....

Q is - do I take my Power meter too - Stages - fits the CX - although I do want it on the TT bike when I get home ... and I use different pedals on the CX to TT bike ...

I'm kinda torn - my only reservation is the time it's going to take to swap the PM back given that we return late on the saturday and the TT is early sunday.... that and power is an interest only ...

How long are you going for ? You can take a few weeks off with no real loss of fitness.

I'd not fret too much over having a different bike to play on over there. MTBing seems to work for our World Champion after all ?

I wouldn't be changing parts over that I need to then change back in a hurry.

Have a few decent rides while you're away and you won't really lose anything significant.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

Only going for a week - not worried about loss of fitness (I'm not where I was a couple of years ago) - but would be interested in the power data I suppose ... would be interesting how much more power is required to ride LSB up a gradient ..

yup - too close to the event to worry about - especially the swap back late sat evening ... I'll leave it at home :(

this can vary a lot person to person. I take 3 days off and on day 4 I'm riding like I've got both brakes on full, takes a while to get it back too.

Of course you take it with you if it fits on the CX, primary (only?) reason to go with stages over alternatives. How long will it take you to swap one (1) pedal and one (1) NDS crank arm? Can't speak for other standards, but if shimano hollowtech 2, that is a two minute job max, including time it takes to remember which way you have to undo the pedal.

At last :) Thank you! :)

Only the 29er isn't HT2 - so yes - it's easy to swap over. I can even take the TT pedal with me - as well as the CX crank - so it's ready to put straight back on the TT bike - no removal/pedal change needed :) - 60 seconds? 2 minutes to include extracting it from the van. Yup - I'll sneak it in so the wife doesn't see it ;)

How long have you been racing already this season?
If like me , been racing since 2nd week in March and not really let up the training rides/Zwift races either, an enforced week off would probably make me have a very strong ride when back.
I'd just enjoy the holiday , unless the addiction factor comes into force.

It's not training to get better so much as a reminder to my legs as to what's expected of them ... I could do it without the power meter - but the danger there is that I just back off because I expect to go slower as it's a heavier bike - not really danger I suppose - but anyway ... it's interesting and isn't going to take long to fit back to the TT bike - so it might just make me more inclined to push it harder at the beginning of the week anyway ...

My mileage this year is abysmal - I know that ... so taking advantage of not being at work and LSB being alseep seems a good idea (well - it does atm - it won't when we're on holiday!)
