My boss crashed his bike this morning. By his description, he bumped over a kerb and then the back wheel locked up, and still is.

I haven't seen the thing, doesn't sound like brakes does it? Any idea what pokery you could do with the hub mechanism to get it going again?

I once locked up the back wheel of my single speed after not locking the bearing nut properly; the bearing race screwed itself into the hub and locked then wheel completely. Suppose it /could/ be that?

Could be that, could be the axle twisted in the dropout so the wheel is stuck on the brake or the tyre on the frame or could be a failing inside the hub gear.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
