Potenza rear derailleur with Athena shifters
I currently have Athena group but would like to use the potenza 32t cassette, for a trip in the Pyrenees, does anyone have experience of whether the potenza rear derailleur will work with Athena shifters?
I don't believe I can use the 32t with the Athena RD.

I was looking into this a week or so back, the answer unfortunately is no - apparently in 2015 Campag 11 speed groups from Chorus upwards got changed to a new pull ratio to give slicker shifting (similar I suppose to the shimano changes they made when going 11 speed and with the new tiagra 10 speed) - this is most obvious if you look at the front derailleurs which have longer arms.
More to the point, the new Potenza group shares the new pull ratios.
I did read somewhere though, that pull ratios on the older 11 speed system which you have are identical on rear derailleurs to 10 speed campag, so in theory you can use a medium cage veloce derailleur to do what you want.
You might want to find another source to confirm that before you buy one...0 -
Thanks Timothy I feared this might be the case. I will look into the veloce possibility?0
