Programmable GPS i0S/Android App with voice turn by turn?

Are there any apps in the market you can create your own route, then it will give you audio prompts (Eg: turn left 300m ahead) while you're riding? (or failing that a visual map route)
Google Maps is great if you're in a car, but for road biking it's flawed as takes you on bridal paths and all sorts of odd routes. I find it's either bridal paths, or death defying A-roads when on road mode.
Ideal solution would be Google Maps having a road bike Vs off road bike option, or Strava adding to their app (as they have the best road ride GPS route data)
In the meantime I would pay for an app that did the above if any one had any recommendations (create a kmz, kml file) import it and give you live directions on route. If anyone had any recommendations, many thanks
