BMC Sizing Question

I'm after a bit advice on BMC Sizing. I currently ride a 54cm Trek that I find comfortable and was looking at replacing with a 54cm BMC, after a quick test ride of the BMC is felt a bit stretched out when on the hoods, so had a quick look at the geometry online.
The stats for Trek(54)/BMC(54) & BMC(51) below:
Seat Tube: 50.6 - 53.5 - 50.5
Eff. Top Tube: 54.3 - 55 - 53.5
Standover: 75.8 - 77.9 -75.4
Reach: 38.1 - 38.7 - 37.8
Stack: 55.5 - 55 - 53
Seems the 51cm is closer in size to my current model. I've not ridden a 51cm as always assumed it would be too small. I'm 176cm tall with a 80cm inseam. On stats alone do you think the 51cm is a better bet, then some spacers to adjust the stack? If so will head back for another test ride.
Thanks

If you've been correctly measured and the stack AND REACH of your current bike is correct, then go for the larger frame. You can reduce the reach to your measurement by fitting a shorter stem. On the other hand, if you're just assuming that the stack is correct, test ride the smaller frame. Adding spacers won't alter the stack, it simply raises the bar height and brings them slightly towards you.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

For what it's worth, I'm 176 cm. I ride a 51 team machine, 53 canyon and a 55 Storck!0

What length stem and what height of spacers do you have on your current bike?
Are you 100% sure your current fit is correct and isn't going to change?0
