A bit like Sepp Blatter he wasn't perfect and at times harmed the sport, but it also became a more global sport under his leadership.

Like most former political leaders, he gets defined by his biggest failure rather than by his successes. And it's a failure that has been replicated in many sports, and not always exposed.
