Anybody know where I can get a my cleats set up for a new pair of shoes. in the midlands.
I had my bike fitting , footbeds, etc done by adrian timmis - but he doesn't seem to do cleat alignment only
Midland bike fit - offer cleat alignment for £35 - but no reply to emails and patchy reports in any case ?
Any others ?

Most people do this themselves, don't they?0

I would give Dan at Midland Bike Fit a call, always got hold of him straight away over the phone. I found he knows his stuff and he set my cleats up to help with an issue I had post op and it did the trick.
Only other place I know of is Velo Atelier in Warwickshire but have not personally used them. I think they work on a pay by the hour consultation basis but not sure on price.0 -

What do you do when a lightbulb needs replacing?0

What cleats are you on ? I'm loving the Speedplay cleats - so much float that position isn't that important.0

Can you not just replicate the position they are currently?
I know folks seem to believe half a millimeter makes a world of difference, but it really doesn't. All shoes have the same sole shape, just fit it in exactly the same way as it is nowleft the forum March 20230 -
Unless you are using something with barely any float I would be surprised if your knee pain is because of your cleat alignment. Have you never noticed how much movement is in your foot when it is clipped in?0

+1 for Speedplay.
I developed severe knee pain in both knees which built up over a period of 5 months. In desperation I bought some Speedplay pedals and the pain went away over a period of 10 days.
This winter I bought a gravel bike, put SPD pedals on it and within a month pain was developing, especially in my inner right knee which has had a knee arthroscopy.I bought another set of Speedplay and guess what? ,over the next 10 days the pain went away.
Looking down while I pedal (just before I crash) I can see that the right foot describes a figure of 8 while the left foot straightens under pressure instead of splaying out.I use light action stainless Speedplays which allow each foot to assume the position it requires through the entire pedaling action.0 -
Try spd compatible shoes and cleats (lots of float available, espeically on Time Atac cleats).0

That's a new one. I wouldn't let anybody near my cleats
Please dont pay £35 (!) to get your cleats aligned ffs. Copy the old shoes. Somewhere in the same ballpark should be fine. They don't need to be nanometer perfect.
How can the fitter know where to fit the cleat ? Surely it's personsal preference and trial and error (out on the road) with a new pair of shoes ? He/she must be a magician.0 -
I was being sarcastic.0

Try this bloke, he is pretty good:

Not sure if he will do just the cleats, etc., but you could chat to him and see what he is prepared to do. A self employed bloke should be a little more flexible than others. Although given that you have already been setup once I would try to replicate the position myself first.0
