Super six evo hi mod clearance issue
I currently have a 2015 super six evo hi mod and was looking for some new wheels, something along the line of a set of zipp 202 or 303 but am concerned about the rim width which is 25.4mm. I currently run with dura ace c24 wheels running 23mm tyres, I tried to swap to 25mm tyres but there's not enough frame clearance. I was wondering if anyone runs a 25mm rim with 23mm tyres and knows if it will clear this frame.

Even my old style Evo takes 25mm tyres on wide rims - the newer model is supposed to have wider clearance. I'm surprised you can't run 25mm tyres on C24s (15mm internal width) - which tyres are we taking about??FFS! Harden up and grow a pair0 -
Schwalbe pro one tubeless on tubeless dura ace rims there's just not enough clearance to get 25mm ones in there so I'm on the same tyres in a 23 at the moment0

That is tight clearance! I would have thought even an "old school" road bike would accommodate a C24 and a 25mm tyre. A wider rim and a 25mm tyre will generate less of the 'bulb' effect, but based on what you say I can't imagine I fitting.Ben

My '25mm' Schwalbe Pro Ones measure over 27mm on my rims (16mm internal / 21mm external). Tried them previously on 18mm / 23mm rims on my other bike and came to nearly 28mm wide.0 -
Do tubs hold shape better than clinchers? Just wondering if a 23mm tub stays 23mm regardless of what size rim it's on?0

I have the Firecrest 404 clinchers and use Veloflex 25mm tyres. They don't seem much bigger than 23mm tyres and can fit the wheels on older Colnago's (C40 and C50) where I struggle with 25mm Michelin Pro 4's0

I've a 2014 HiMod and run Conti GP4000 II 25's on Enve 3.4s wheels and no issues. The tyres measure up 26.9mm (just measured to confirm). I'd not get bigger tyres on but there's adequate clearance just now.0

Thanks everyone. Seems like I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and get some new wheels and see what happens. Worst case is I have to buy a new frame :shock:0
