extra link needed?

Replaced my 12-27 cassette with a 12-30 to help with a very hilly sportive in 3 weeks. Using 52/36 and 105 RD - it seems to run fine btw.

Do you think I need to add another link to the chain judging by the big-big combo below? I will obviously try and avoid that gear but it might happen by accident.

Thoughts?

I do not see a problem there.

Just about fine. The chain still bends through both jockey wheels. Obviously an extreme gear that you likely won't use anyway.

I would say its probably too short but not worth adding another link, just wear it out then measure with the larger cassette, and for now just avoid that gear as much as you can

thanks all - I will leave as is then because it runs perfectly in all other gears so adding the link might cause issues with lower gears.
