Hi everyone, I am trying to burp my hydraulic disc brakes but can't get my reservoir open! I broke 1 flathead screw driver trying to get the screw out. I tried wd40 but it still isn't budging. I'm not using a philips head because it will most likely strip the screw. Any ideas?

if it is Philips head, then using that type of screwdriver. correctly sized should undo it - you need to press hardtop avoid it slipping.

I've had similar problem of a chewed screw head on magura brake reserviour so had to make a slot in the head using a dremel cutting disc - this is not the same problem as you since I don't think mine was done up as tight, just some ham fisted maintenance by previous owner.

if the head gets mangled, you will need to grind the head off then drill and possibly retap the brake lever body.

If it's a Shimano brake it's best to use a JIS screwdriver.

Philips screwdrivers can cam out a bit easily when used on Japanese screw heads - hence why a lot people complain about mech limit screws stripping.
