Stylish clothing

Hello, I'm in the market for some new stylish, road bike wear. I'm after a matching short sleeve top and shorts.
Where people look, I've been on wiggle and a few other googled sites but they don't seem to have anything that matches, i.e come in a set.
Any pointers...?
Thanks

  • Black shorts match everything, and just get a jersey in a colour you like.

Castelli Free Aero Race, jerseys and shorts match. Pricey though.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

Wiggle have dhb kit - you can search on colour and select matching stuff. But yes. Shorts should be black or mostly black anyway.

If this question was answered in the form of a Venn Diagram, the circles for "Stylish" and "Matching" would have no overlap!

I really don't know about that. Back in the days when the only kit you could get cheap was pro teams - I'd often meet my pal wearing socks, shorts, top and mitts all from different teams. I swear he got dressed in the dark.

Rapha do bundles in several of their ranges, so you save money if you get the bundle with shorts and jersey together. You can also usually use their regular discount codes for a further reduction.

Or how about an all in one suit like the Castelli San Remo ones.

As above, black shorts go with anything. Wiggle carry both DHB (their own brand) and Morvelo both do nice combos with DHB being cheaper generally.
Other places worth a nose would be Chapeau, Evans and ProBikeKit.

Main thing is getting a couple of shorts in black then they will go with any jersey.

https://www.aliexpress.com/ if you don't mind waiting 2 or 3 weeks for delivery.

The website is a bit of a pain in the bum as the search function is not very good but google cycling jerseys and there is a huge selection, mostly £10-£20. There is a rating function so I have only ordered items which have a few positive reviews

I've ordered a few bits from here now, the quality has generally been excellent and you can't argue with the cost

I'd be wary of AliExpress - at those prices they aren't genuine team kit - and it's hundreds of suppliers so quality will vary hugely.

DHB kit is reasonable and you know it'll be here in 2 days.

I bought some bright red DHB shorts as they were (heavily) reduced. They go with nothing else I own but still wear them for training rides. I'm normally going hard enough that I couldn't give a hoot what people think of my clothes. On Sunday/slower rides though, has to all match..

If you want high quality then try Cafe du Cycliste or Velobici.

If you want low priced, medium quality replica sets, try here http://www.abccycling.com

It's China, but very reliable and the sizes now replicate UK sizes.

Stolen goat, primal wear, le Col, etc etc. There are too many to mention.

But there is only one colour for shorts - black. Every jersey colour goes with black shorts.

Darker shades of blue look awful with black shorts. Dark greens slightly less awful, but still blah with black shorts.

Someone needs to tell those Italian chaps at Inter Milan that their colour choice offends someone in Britain. We know a thing or two about style.

    Style is very subjective.

    My top brands would be:

    Isadore
    Ale
    Dotout
    Pedal Mafia

*That's not only for style, but fit (for me) as well as quality of materials and finish.
    Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06
    Scott CR1 SL 12
    Cannondale Synapse Adventure 15 & 16 Di2
    Scott Foil 18
  • If you want style you need to go piece by piece rather than pick a brand.

    Also it's very subjective.

My personal view is that ff you want to look "stylish" on a bike - be thin, have long, well defined calves (not chicken legs with calves bunched up below the back of your knee) and have a good tan. Ideally have a slammed stem as well - because for all the money you can spend on clothing, it does look pretty unstylish riding along sitting bolt upright.

Well, it could be that these people, and many others, don't give a damn if they look like pro racers. Which almost all of us aren't. There aren't too many people out there who think, there goes a pro rider because you are dressed like one. Your not fooling anyone, especially other cyclists, so just ride.
