Inflating Deep Rims

I'm after just purchasing my first set of deep rimmed wheels and I'm having trouble inflating them.

The wheels I bought are 60mm Planet X. The valve doesn't appear to be a standard presta valve. I'm thinking it's a valve extender? Anyhow, when I use my track pump to inflate the tyres, I can't get any air into the tyres. When I attempt to pump, the air just isn't going in

Any help would be appreciated!

Unscrew that. You'll find a valve under it - so unscrew that. Let some air out and put the extender back on to pump.

Tbh I'd get longer inner tubes so you don't need the extender. Keeps it simple.
  • Have you tried unscrewing the extender? My deep rims with extenders have a normal presta type nut that I undo, attach the extender, inflate then remove the extender and then tighten the nut. I've no experience of Planet X wheels so may well be miles out

    Beaten to it by cougie!

I always use inner tubes with 80mm long valves rather than using valve extenders. Find them easier to use.
