Newbie getting back into biking. Bought this last week, not mint but good for its age and price....i'm happy with it :-)

It's a Kona 'The King' circa 2006/7

Can anyone tell me what suspension i have as no searches come up, no name on them just <120
I'm wanting to change for 100mm forks with remote lockout as these were what it originally was set up with going by Kona specs, i'm guessing by looking at the steerer tube its non tapered and 1-1/8.

Cheers
Pete

And yes i'm aware the brakes need swapping over.

Is there any etched or stamped serial numbers on them all?

    Might give a clue.

They look quite new though and in good condition, do they really need swapping?

I'll look again but nothing obvious. Kona recommend 100mm for the geometry of the frame to work best. These are 120 without remote L/O

10mm isn't a huge difference, I'd only really consider a swap if those forks are pants, but I'm not sure what they are. Maybe someone else knows.

But if they work ok... Decent set of 1/18 forks will set you back about £200, so whether that's worth it is a question.

They look a bit like suntour forks transferred from another bike.

They are Suntour based on the sticker just below the crown on the right hand leg. They've come of a branded bike using the stickers the bike manufacturer wanted.

Go to the classified section if you want to post a wanted.

Why do you think you need lockout? Good quality forks with a proper damper don't really need one.

Are they air forks? Difficult to tell from the photos, but the stantions look like they are better than the standard chromed silver ones on the lower end Suntour forks, but it could just be the lighting.

It looks like it has the normal Spring preload knob.

I think they are chrome with strange lighting.
