Hi just want to ask for some advice, can a 11 speed chainset work with a 10 speed setup (mine been Sram force setup 2012)

However I am currently using a Utegra 11-28 cassette and 10 speed chain they both work fine with Sram setup.

I am having to replace my FSA SLK CARBON LIGHT CHAINSET(53T-39T) , main reason it has worn out the chain rings on the big ring and the BB is on its way out ,and getting these alone is very expensive and difficult to hold off. There is only one FSA BB that can fit it and there seems to be short supply of them!!

So it was more cost effective to purchase a Shimano 5800 11 speed chainset and 2 Shimano Dura Ace Bottom Brackets for a good price from Ribble Cycles.

I have Herd that the 10 speed setup will work fine with the 11 speed chainset. I am also going to replace the chain With XL KMC chain 10 speed.

The 5800 Chainset is a 52T-36T that I have Purcased. Any help and advice ,or if someone has used a 11 speed chainset on 10 speed setup I would be grateful for any information including set up. Thanks

Should be fine - no issues.

The internal dimensions of the links are the same on 11 and 10 speed chains, so will work fine.

I'm using an 11 speed chainset (5800) with a 10 speed setup (7800). Works fine.
