skipping chain

placed the following parts on my bike

Shimano CS-HG41 7 Speed Acera Cassette 11-28T

Shimano FCTY501 MTB Chainset Chainwheel 42/34/24

Shimano N-HG71 Chain Silver 6 7 8 Speed 116 Links

shimano Altus Derailler

chain still skipping, what did I do wrong

    Did you measure and shorten the chain if necessary?

    If everything is new you should check rear derailleur position and derailleur hanger. If parts are used than you need to check teeth condition in cassette and crankset.
