What is the rim size in inches for a 700c tyre? Thought it was more like 28".
Someone has listed a 26" rim online from an old road bike and I'm wondering if it would fit my current setup?
Are there any road bikes work a 26" rim?!

An old road bike was 26 x 1 3/8 or 26 x 1 1/4 rim and although you might think the ETRO of both are the same they aren't, 26 x 1 3/8 is 590 and 26 x 1 1/4 is 597 different again to MTB 26" which is 559, a 700c rim is 622.
More confusion on tyre size http://biketiresize.com/I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
28 inch is a tubular size. Clinchers are either called 700c or 622. If they are disc rims, they might also be called 29 erleft the forum March 20230

28" 1 5/8 or 1 1/4 clincher is the same size as 700c at 622mm, it's rather an arcane size but was common back in the 50's, ugo is too young for his own good at times.
