1.5" fork in 1 1/8" frame? Any way?

I've got a 2015 Cube Stereo that takes a tapered 1.5" to 1.1/8" steerer. I've accidentally bought a 2014 Fox 34, which is just 1.5" tapered.
It obviously fits the lower bearing, which is 1.5", but not the upper which is 1.1/8".
Can an adapter be bought to make the upper fit?

It can't be 'just 1.5" tapered' - it must either be tapered to something else (ie 1 1/8"), or straight.

If your fork is 1.5" all the way up, it's not going to fit.

If it's plain 1.5" and a ZS44 upper bearing (likely) it may be possible to make it fit using an external bearing in the same way as you can fit a tapered steerer into a ZS44 lower.

If it's 1.5" tapered then it is fine. The steerer tapers from 1.5" at the bottom to 11/8" towards the top.

firstly I was not aware that 1.5 " straight forks exist but looking at pictures of cube stereo 2015, the top part of the head tube looks like it accepts smaller diameter so a straight 1.5" will not fit,

This looks like a Fox 34 Talas with a straight 1.5 steerer (26 inch). https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/2127215/ So they do exist, though I've no idea what frame is made for that or whether there is a top headset that fits the Rookie's description.

Though "just 1.5 tapered" looks confusing in the OPs description.

    Certainly an unusual component though.

Some Cannondale are 1.5" straight as Lefties are 1.5" straight steerer (as were headshock).

Ignore 02GF74's comment, he's clearly not thought about internal v external headset bearings which I was talking about at the top.

Sadly the OP doesn't seem to be reappearing, so any advice given may be a moot point in the end!
