Brake blocks

Hi all,
I've got some new carbon clincher wheels and have bought lifeline carbon-fibre specific brake blocks from Wiggle. Is it ok to use those brake blocks on alu rims too? If I want to swap between carbon and alu rims do I have to swap brake blocks each time, or can I get blocks that work with both types?
I suspect the small bits of alu that can accumulate in blocks would be a disaster for carbon rims, so even if the blocks can work, it's probably not a good idea, but interested in experiences from others.
