New guy here. I need some guidance on buying a frame. Long story short, I ended up with a Pacifica aluminum road bike, with all Shimano Dura Ace components for basically free. The frame is way too small for me, I want to buy a 57sm steel frame and build it up using the Dura Ace components. Is anyone familiar with Pacifica? All I find on the net was that they were a sorta kinda mid quality Japanese bike. So what frame do I buy? Aren't there different threads on the headset and bottom bracket? Any idea what I might have? I've had aluminum and steel road bikes in the past, much preferred steel. Any ideas, input, or criticism most appreciated. Thank you.

I would check that the DA kit on the bike is genuine and not counterfeit. Who would put DA on a really crap frame?

If you are sure it is real then buy the frame you want and accept that you will not be able to just transfer everything across. You will have to buy things to fit the new frame.

How old is the bike - and hence the gruppo?

If it's old and worn out you'd be better off starting from scratch. If it's not seen many miles you could have a bargain - there's nowt wrong with 9spd DA in good condition.
FFS! Harden up and grow a pair :D

    .
How would one know if it's counterfeit? They look and feel high quality. I had 105 components about 25 years ago, that's all I really have to compare with. Is there a tell? Thanks.
