Are 5800 / 6800 sprockets interchangeable?

Hi all.

I have a bent tooth in one of the sprockets on my Ultegra 6800 cassette. I do have a spare 105 5800 cassette lying around, so was wondering if there is anything to prevent me from swapping out the dodgy sprocket?

I know the cassettes are interchangeable, so shouldn't be any issues in terms of width / chain compatibility, and number of teeth would be the same, just wondering if there is anything else?

No issues - swap will be fine

The only thing that is wrong in that picture is that the Shimano Groupset Uniformity Gestapo will hunt you down. They will find you and they will kill you.

(Really, no issue as long as you don't mind that nagging feeling of it being "wrong" series)

I believe the Ultegra cassette has two spiders vs one for the 105 so the 105 has more individual sprockets and spacers.

Personally, I see chains and cassettes as service items and would replace both if there's any significant wear or damage to the cassette.
