Saw off ends of bullhorn bars?

I was thinking of buying the deda chrononero team tri bars as I prefer the flat brake lever grip to the slightly curved upwards bullhorn bars, but have one that has a slight curve on the tips of the handlebars.
As they are aluminium would it be safe to just saw the curved tips off to make the bars flat and then attach the brakes to the ends?
Cheers
