Wearing down the 46T chainring on my Flyer, what is available that isn't too expensive as replacement chainring?

It's 46T, 130mm BCD, 3/32"
Say... That's a nice bike..

Best I can see is SJS Cycles. Stronglight 46T 130 BCD 5 arm for £35

That's for a multi speed chainset.

    It doesn't really matter.

It does if he's using as a single!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Tell me why it matters? It's compatible with his BCD and his chain width.

Depth of the teeth, don't want any funny cut away teeth to aid for derailling

There aren't any on that chainring - and if there were, it still wouldn't matter.

It will work, but I'd still take the right tool for the right job.

Could you stand to drop to a 44t? If so, there's this Raceface NW http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/race ... prod109723. If not, it might be worth considering a new crankset with a 110mm BCD, but that's going to start getting pricey.

You may find you have an easier time just shopping for a new chainset.

Sturmey archer have some fairly cheap ones out there, as do stronglight.

Shimano alfine chainset might be another option.

You might find you can put back replacement by taking your existing chainset apart and putting it back on with the chainring the other way round, as it tends to be just one side of the teeth that gets worn.

yup aware of the flip method. Still want one for the parts shelf so can swap over without waiting when it's worn

There's a few multi speed chainset ones but would it fit and be ok?

Seems to have less metal around bolts, for SS/fixie but more pressure grinding than you do on multispeed bike

Still finding it hard to find an affordable chainring.

Don't need a new chainset, it's not like the arms have been busted up.

How about one of these from the states. Seems to be both 110 & 130.

I take it I can't use a 3/32 chain on 1/8" chainring? I've got a couple of spare 3/32 chains and sprockets I want to use up, before going to 1/8", if 1/8" stuff is more common/better value

Cheapest matching BCD and teeth number rings are these, but only available in 3/32.
