I,m in the market for a cycling cam and at the moment most of those i,ve looked at only have a battery life of around 2 hours. Has anybody got a cam with a longer 3 or 4 hour battery life. It doesn,t have to be top notch pictures it,s more for safety.

Front or rear? Cycliq Fly6 and Fly12 give me about 6 hours with hassle free recordings. Both have lights too, but not cheap.

Fly6 has changed slightly since this review, now with a simple velcro fixing system http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/category/accessories/lights/back/product/review-cycliq-fly6-combination-tail-light-hd-camera-48491/

I can vouch for the fly 6, really good addition to my kit. Used it on a long multi day cycling tour an was impressed with the pics.
Really wish they done the fly12 without the light. Totally unnecessary for a great number of possible customers.

Have been looking too but nothing jumps out as being that useful as a safety camera. Most of them are pitched as action cameras. Features such as loop recording and a "save" button like we have in car dash cams seem to be completely missing.

Have a look at the Warrior G1 which has a 6hr battery and does loop recording with a giro sensor. There's also the G1S which has a low light sensor. Both record at 1080p/60fps, have 165 deg lens and come with a waterproof remote or you can use an app via WiFi.
Pro: Battery life, video quality, remote (can control multiple cameras), fast wake, price
Con: Documentation lacks a key press summary, screws around lens not 316 stainless, wind noise from mic hole (tape over stops it), XM Watermark on video can't be removed.

The best bit is it only costs US$91 at Zapals.com

If you only want it as a safety camera and long battery life then it has to be the fly 12 (10 hours battery life)

(Unless that warrior g1 as as good as prev poster says)

A point about the fly 12 is that everything you need is in the box - sd card, cycle mounts - its a bit of a learning curve and my first one went back but - but quite happy with it now.
