Fox 36 Float "Free-Travel"

Hello!
Just got myself a brand new set of Fox 36 floats today (2017). Fitted and testing out however compared to my old talas 34 I can pull the crown up when the bike is sitting. Must only be about 2-3 mm of free/resistance free travel but when pulling the crown up I can hear them tap on the top of the lowers. Can anyone confirm if this is normal? When I compress the fork even on full rebound they don't top out, well maybe ever so slightly but it is a minuscule amount.
Don't get me wrong I haven't even had ridden with them yet and I can feel they are miles ahead of my old 34 talas however can't remember being able to pull the crown up on them.
Thanks
Kevin
