I bought a Voodoo Bizango recently. I noticed its quite a bit slower on tarmac with its chunky tyres and I find myself riding 80+% on tarmac and only about 20% (max) on trails.

I want a faster tyre, can anyone recommend any ?

    Are a few more

Mind you, 80% tarmac you might want something even more tarmac oriented, maybe something like this

This site seems to have lots of useful information comparing tyres.

    Maybe more like 80%-90% tarmac.

Methinks you bought the wrong bike, a CX looks like it would have been a better choice and faster

Don't despair, it's a nice bike, just put some skinnier tyres on it and lock the suspension out.

Then if you want to do off road, you've got a nice bike.

The amount of people I see in the city I work riding 'argos' full sussers is laughable, the voodoo is a decent frame with decent components, so with sensible tyres it will be fine on tarmac.

You'll never win the tour de France on it, it's a mountain bike but with the right tyres it is fine on tarmac, and if you fancy doing some forest trails or a bit of non tarmac riding its a good machine.

    Thanks for the info.

I've decided the best tyre for me is the

    Schwalbe Marathon Almotion. https://www.schwalbe.com/gb/tour-reader ... otion.html

    Would size:

    55-622 (28 x 2.15)

Work OK without any problems ??

Currently got the defaults Tyres 29" x 2.25" Maxxis Ardent

The Almotions are supposed to roll very well, but the 2.1 version is quite a weighty beast at over 900g each, plus wide tyres will offer increased drag while offering more comfort on the road. They have their plus points, but ultimate speed is not one of them.

If the wheels have an internal rim width of 19mm, a 28-622 tyre would be a very safe minimum tyre width, it wouldn't be as comfortable but would have less drag. But finding a decent multi-terrain that narrow won't be easy, you will have much more options in the 30-38mm window.

http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/TYSCMRCFOL ... -raceguard is a bargain buy after the weak pound, I've had a set of these on my Wazoo since last summer until very recently, they roll really well. I recently swapped them for 29x2.35 G-One Speeds won for a relatively silly price on Ebay and lent the Cross pair to a colleague, the G-One do roll nicely, but in a breeze I really notice the extra aero drag.

I've not tried them myself, but https://www.merlincycles.com/panaracer- ... 90671.html is a good price, lighter than the Marathon Cross and they size big (32 is ~35mm for example).

The guy at the LBS warned me off getting slimmer tyres, he said the bike wouldn't handle properly. I should get minimum 2.1".

    Heres the stock tyres:

I read up on those G-One speeds, they seem light weight but a few people said they puncture really easily.

I've wider rims than you on my CX, 23.5 internal width shod with WTB 40mm Nanos, so as Nitrous says you can go quite narrow.

Just keep the tyres you have and whack the pressure up.
Replace them when they wear out.

I'll second that, amazing tyre, rolls better than many road tyres I've used, way better than the GravelKing Small Knob.
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.
