Hi guys, do any of you know the spacing between the chain rings of the Shimano m440/m590 (9 speed) and the m660 (10speed) chainsets? I need to replace/upgrade my old SR Suntour, model unknown, was looking at either the m440 or m590.. I've been offered a nearly new m660 chainset and was wondering if I could use this on my 9 spd mtb? I've looked at chain widths between 9 and 10 spds, the 9 speed is 6.6mm wide compared to 6.2mm for the 10 spd chain, cheers for any help!!

A ten sped crankset works fine with everything else at 9 speed.

Cool, cheers.. Yep, all 9spd, as follows..
    Sram X7 shifters.
    Sram X7 front derailleur.
    Sram X9 rear derailleur.
    Shimano SLX HG80 cassette.
    KMC X9.93 chain.
It's a 7yr old bike so no real need for top spec..
