Changing handlebar

Totally up front I'm not trying to shave any seconds this is purely a change because I love the way they look.

I'd like to change the handlebar on my felt ar5 to some aero drop bars.

Is it easy enough to do?

Also not wanting to spend much I'm thinking about a foreign purchase namely https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182554617721

I like that the cable is integrated so can be hidden.

Any advice or other options that don't cost too much, would prefer ones with integrated stem but that usually alot more.

Is there anything I need to look at in terms of compatibility?

The thing is - if your bars break - then you're going down.

Would I trust anonymous Carbon ? No.

Will you replace the bars if the bike falls over at a cafe stop?

Bars are consumables. They are so important for you.

Easy enough to swap bars but I'd not touch them with a bargepole. Stick with branded alloys where a supplier at least is confident enough to put their name on them.

Give me round any day over the aero monstrosities.

I run carbon bars and am fine and dandy with them but I'd only use branded ones from a reputable source - i.e. Nothing off some random dude on the 'bay or amazon.

Post a piccie when sorted - looking cool is part of I all.

Thank you, after some further reading and youtubes I have definitely decided not to go for the cheap ones.

Will just keep an eye on the second hand market me thinks.

Second-hand carbon? Is that really a good idea?

OK, considering I am not trying to save weight, maybe ally ones? Although I think I am fairly put off the whole change right now.

Keep an eye on Planet X - they have random handle bars in on their sales dirt cheap.

They have Selcof aero in there now that aren't cheap but will soon end up being so.

Also clearance parts of retailers websites.

Good idea, the selcof areo bar is nice, but how do you get your bike computer mount on that bar?

    You can buy the stem...

    STEM
Built from carbon, with a removable face plate, Integrated bolt mounting for a Garmin mount and our clip-on carbon tri bars

I use Wahoo Elemnt Bolt, not sure if its compatible with that. Be nice if they gave a bit more description in how that works.

Not sure as I don't use a computer - pane e aqua in casa Falle.

I think someone has mentioned a matching stem though?

Wahoo mount is incompatible with Garmin mounts. You can bastardise the Garmin mount so long as it's the removable one for the 1000 to mount in lanscape orientation, otherwise your Wahoo will be sideways on.

Have a look at the 3T Aeronova bars. Reasonably cheap for aluminium but lovely in carbon. One thing to appreciate is that they are a right git to thread cables through with the apertures being so tight. Designed for Di2 or SRAM eTap me thinks.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

I've got these on mine with intergrated cable routing and are decent bars too.
