Hi, I am new so I hope this post falls in line with all rules etc

Here goes I have a 2009 s-works stumpjumper (carbon) which I fell off and managed to crack the top tube I know it can be repaired but i want a new bike so repair isn't cost effective to me. My question is do you all think it would be worth anything on the second hand market? It would come with fork and shock.

Many thanks in advance

Not really, proper repair will probably cost a lot more than frame is worth, plus it's an old bike so frame, fork and shock aren't really worth much either.

Been told the repair would cost in the region of £200

It will be worth something, but not much!

Probably better splitting it and selling the shock and each of the suspension components separately for spares and the front triangle as an ornament to be honest.

Linkages and shocks on those old stumpjumpers are a real weakness so if they're in decent condition then they'll sell no problem. Should get something for the forks. I wouldn't be surprised if you make £200 out of the bits.

Just had forks serviced and re greased all linkage bearings etc.. think I'm going to chuck it on eBay and see what comes of it.. anything is better than nothing

Seriously I'd split it first, I think you'll get more money, someone who just wants the forks won't want to pay for the frame (and the cost of shipping), someone who wants one part of the rear will pay the same for that one part as they would for all the bits they don't want.

If you don't want the effort, let me know when you list it.....
