Hello,

Is anyone on this list using these, http://www.velocityusa.com/product/acce ... /veloplugs ?
Would a blob of silicon mastic sealant not do the same job?
I've had my first rim tape failure and I'm surprised that the best way to stop your tube being impaled on the spoke end is to put a bit of tape over the hole
I suppose I could go tubeless or make a note to self to ride rutted concrete tracks on a MTB.

Best wishes,

I've always just wrapped the rim in insulting tape - two or three times round and it's worked for decades.

No real reason apart from one night I didn't have any rim tape so used insulting tape and it's always worked so much like TDNFNATN, why change a good thing?

I hate being insulted by tape, so use friendly stuff.

+1 on the insulating tape. Simple cheap and effective.

Yepp, me too. Found that the red tape is quicker than the black tape though...

Ninjas and Azi Ahmed use black.

Only use decent quality insulating tape, I had one stretch and tear at the spoke holes resulting in a trashed tube.

I have always used Velox cloth tape. Come in different widths.
