Has anyone used Giant Radlett for a RETUL bike fit? Was looking for some feedback before I decide to go with them (they are my closest decent bike shop).

There isn't really too many ways you can mess up a Retul fit - I'd do some reading up on what a Retul fit actually is and see if its for you,0

I recently went to have another Retul. I used a company called www.Fit-me-up.com which is not as dodgy as it sounds. Dean is the owner and operator and I found he did a very good job not just looking at optimisation of the data but relating it to me and my physique. Importantly he is also a trained Physiotherapist so can incorporate his knowledge. His rates were cheaper than many other Retul fitters. Based in Hertford so not a million miles from Radlett.0

Pretty much the opposite opinion to most others I've read. Retul is a measurement tool, it's the fitter who uses it to come up with the best fit for the person.0 -

Same as most other bike-fits then...0 -

Hence me asking if the one in Radlett isany good. May make the longer drive/bike to http://www.fit-me-up.com/about-us as I know someone who used them and rated them.0 -

These are the guys in Radlett http://cadenceperformance.com/. I'm not sure they are the typical LBS bike shop doing fittings on the side but as I've never used them (other than buying parts) I don't know how good their fitter is.0 -
Retul can be a great measuring tool but many of the big chains go beyond the science of the system and in order to make it easy for a shop assistant, say something like 'the rider's back angle should be 30%'. Makes a mockery of the whole thing if you go for average or fixed number.
I'd go to someone more personal - Have heard good things about Mike @ http://theflyingdutchman.co.uk.0 -

I know I am just a guy on the internet but feel I really wasted my money with Dean and had a terrible experience.
I had gone to a Retul fit previously that I was never 100% happy with. I went to Dean explaining the issues...and he ignored all of them. I came out with an even more unrideable position than the first retul bike fit I had (saddle too far forward leading to very bad handling bike and weighted hands, saddle weight too high meaning after ~10 mins I was uncomfortable I could never get passed about an hour of riding without a very strong desire to get off). It was these two issues that I told him about prior to the fitting.
I also went to him to try different saddles to see if I could find one I liked better; he seemed to have a large array and the gebiomized pressure map thing so thought it would be a great way to rule out a few without purchasing them. I actually went without a saddle on my bike as he said "oh just put what you usually use on as a starting point". I kept mentioning a desire to try different saddles but we came to the end of the session and he said "oh, we don't have time anymore".
TL:DR I went asking for a less 'extreme' fit than I had previously had and to try as many saddles as possible, but came out with an unridable position which I reverted from after ~1 month and trying no other saddles.0
