Matteo Pelucchi finished the stage in a right road rash state. He crashed in the descent after the first KOM with approx 80kms to go!

Some of the pics of his road rash require a 'parental advisory' sticker. Ouch, would be an understatement. That is going to hurt in the bath/shower.

Sod that. We are all grown ups here.

Also Katusha's Losada came off and was holding his arm, thought he was out. Doc popped his shoulder back in and he rode on, finished 38mins down.

Very much enjoying the commentary of whoever is in the booth today with Kelly.
Only able to listen along to the ES coverage - too much on to be watching!

Best grand tour commentary from Eurosport since a very very long time ago. Possibly for ever.

    Agreed much slicker.

    Was impressed by Zakarin.

Made a gap in a headwind while it wasn't that steep a la pedale.

Did anyone else's balls just jump back up inside them?

Headwind ruined the stage but was a standard week one climb like you used to get in the Grio.

    Pic shamelessly lifted from INRNG

It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

The general coverage (intros, stage overviews & interviews) are decent too, and the highlights package has improved. I really hope this is the start of Eurosport investing in their cycling coverage.

Eurosport Player has been reliable recently for me as well. If they could just get rid of the spoilers in their videos section I'd be a totally satisfied customer.

Agreed. I was just going to watch the highlights, but they had put the sports headlines on immediately before it including the results of the days stage, yeah cheers.

I've had to go back to recording 5 hours of live coverage and watching it at 12x hoping I don't miss anything important.

the bad: my flight back yday was delayed by 3 bleeding hours

the good: meant I was able to watch the stage

As Rick said, headwind spoiled the party

But I was cheering for Poulanc

The only thing missing from that photo is the sheepdog.
