First Velon event - Limburg, first weekend in June

Hi all,
You may not know that Velon is holding its first event in its Hammer Series, which as the website at http://www.hammerseries.com states, is " ... racing, reimagined. Using a dynamic and innovative format, the Hammer Series will find and crown the very best pro cycling team in the world across three different challenges over 3 unforgettable consecutive Days: the Hammer Sprint; the Hammer Climb and the Hammer Chase. Taking place in selected cities around the world, each Hammer Series Race will see 3 days of intensive racing to test the strength and depth of each team where only the strongest, most rounded will rise towards glory to be crowned the best team in the world."
The first event is being in Limburg, close to Maastricht, on the first weekend in June. There is a sportif style event too, on the Saturday, with distances of up to 150km on offer in the rolling hills of south Holland (yes, they do have hills there!).
Teams will bring their best 7 riders, with 5 competing each day. The Hammer Series will up to host 18 teams per event, of which 12 will be World Tour teams. World Tour teams include; Bahrain Merida Pro Cycling Team, BMC Racing Team, Cannondale-Drapac Pro Cycling Team, Lotto-Soudal, Movistar Team, Orica-Scott, Quick-Step Floors, Team Lotto NL-Jumbo, Team Sky, Team Sunweb, Trek-Segafredo, and UAE Team Emirates. Pro-Continental teams include: Nippo-Vini Fantini, Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij, and Cala Rural-Seguros RGA.
Please consider supporting the event in person if you can. Given the newness of the event you're guaranteed to get close-up to the pros, if that's your wish, and if you've not ridden in Limburg before, you're in for a treat!
