Well, I collected them earlier. They have been back to Saddleback and a pic of the letter shows what they said. I took some more pics of them. Yes the straps have gone grey but as said, they have been washed with other kit etc.

As for the leg grippers showing heat damage, they look fine to me, there is one patch on the leg however that they may have thought was damage due to washing but that was crash damage from last year which i forgot to mention to them - doh.
Other than that scuff, they lycra looks to be in perfect condition. No wear, nothing.

I also noticed a bit on the pad where the pad is stiched to the inside of the leg and it shouldnt be! looks like they missed that too...

i have since replaced them with Rapha shorts, so fingers crossed they will last a whole heap longer and i will not be buying any more Castelli shorts.

Have you asked them what qualifies Darren Gumm to reach that conclusion. Poor response from a company that has now revealed that they have poor customer service. What other brands do saddleback supply so that we can know what to avoid.

    Don't worry looked it up:
    That's castelli
    Stages
    Sidi
    Chris king
    Enve
    Rotor
all knocked off my list of potential future purchases. Shows that a bit of goodwill can potentially save a company thousands of pounds of lost sales.

My washing machine always washed too hot. Turned out it had been plumbed into the hot water instead of cold.
